Summary

Our client, Lime Gourmet Pizza and Pasta, is a well-established casual dining and takeaway business located in Hamilton, Newcastle. Our client is seeking to add a Retail Manager to oversee daily operations, maintain high service standards and support continued business growth. The successful applicant will manage staff, stock, customer service, financial controls and compliance across the restaurant’s busy retail operations.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Oversee daily restaurant, takeaway and customer service operations to maintain efficient business performance.
• Determine product offerings, stock levels and service standards based on customer demand.
• Manage purchasing procedures and maintain reliable relationships with food, beverage and packaging suppliers.
• Monitor stock movements, minimise wastage and ensure appropriate inventory levels are consistently maintained.
• Develop and implement marketing activities to promote pizzas, pasta dishes and family meal options.
• Review menu pricing and product profitability while maintaining competitive and commercially sustainable offerings.
• Recruit, train, roster and supervise employees across customer service and retail operations.
• Set staff performance expectations and provide ongoing guidance, feedback and operational support.
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints and feedback professionally to maintain strong customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of sales, stock levels, expenses and other financial transactions.
• Prepare operational budgets and monitor expenditure against established financial targets.
• Ensure food presentation, service delivery and retail standards remain consistent throughout trading periods.
• Implement workplace health, safety, hygiene and food-handling procedures across daily operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer engagement, sales performance and overall business growth.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in retail management, business management or a related discipline.
• At least three years of relevant retail management experience may substitute for the required formal qualification.
• Demonstrated experience managing daily operations within a busy restaurant, takeaway or comparable food retail environment.
• Strong ability to supervise, train and roster staff while maintaining productivity and high customer service standards.
• Proven experience managing inventory, supplier purchasing, stock control and the reduction of operational wastage.
• Sound understanding of budgeting, sales monitoring, financial recordkeeping and commercially responsible pricing decisions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health, safety, food hygiene and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage customers, employees and suppliers effectively.
