Nishtha Enterprise Pty Ltd as Trustee for the Nishtha Enterprise Family Trust operates Bottlemart Harrington, a well-established independent liquor retail store located in Harrington, New South Wales. The business offers an extensive range of beers, wines, spirits, premixed drinks and other beverage products, supported by a strong commitment to responsible service, competitive pricing and quality customer service.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the store. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient store management, leading and developing staff, maintaining optimum inventory levels, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance while ensuring compliance with all relevant liquor licensing and workplace health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the retail store to ensure efficient, profitable and customer-focused performance.
• Lead, recruit, train, supervise and motivate store employees to achieve high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
• Monitor customer service standards and promptly resolve customer enquiries and complaints.
• Determine product range, maintain appropriate inventory levels and coordinate purchasing to ensure product availability.
• Develop and implement merchandising, promotional and pricing strategies to maximise sales and profitability.
• Monitor stock movements, minimise stock losses and conduct regular stocktakes.
• Oversee cash handling, banking, financial transactions and end-of-day reconciliation procedures.
• Prepare operational reports, monitor store performance and implement strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets.
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing legislation, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements, workplace health and safety regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe retail environment that promotes an excellent customer experience.
• Monitor store presentation, displays and merchandising standards to maximise product visibility and sales opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Business, Retail Management, Management or a related field.
• Minimum one year of full-time experience in a similar Retail Manager position within the retail industry.
• In the absence of formal qualifications, at least three years of relevant full-time experience may substitute for the qualification.
• Demonstrated experience managing retail operations, supervising staff and achieving sales and operational targets.

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to analyse sales performance and implement strategies to improve business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and liquor licensing obligations.
• Proficiency in retail point-of-sale and inventory management systems.
