Position: Quality Assurance Manager

Primary Purpose

This is a full-time position.

Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation

To coordinate the company's quality systems, inspect products, investigate quality issues and drive continuous improvement across the business. Working in our operating entity City Timber.

Key Responsibilities

Product Quality

· Conduct routine inspections of incoming finished timber products.

· Ensure products meet customer specifications, grading rules and company quality standards.

· Verify dimensions, moisture content, appearance, machining quality and packaging.

· Identify and quarantine non-conforming products.

· Record inspection results and maintain quality records.

Customer Quality

· Investigate customer complaints regarding product quality.

· Review of job lots prior to being packaged up for customer.

· Coordinate corrective actions with warehouse, supplier and management.

· Track trends in customer complaints.

· Recommend improvements to reduce repeat issues.

Supplier Quality

· Monitor quality of incoming timber from suppliers.

· Record supplier quality performance.

· Report recurring supplier issues to management.

· Assist with supplier corrective action requests where required.

Quality Systems

· Ensure quality procedures and work instructions remain current.

· Assist with document control.

· Maintain inspection forms and product quality registers.

Training

· Train staff in quality procedures and inspection methods.

· Promote quality awareness throughout the business.

Health, Safety & Environmental

· Follow company WHS policies.

· Ensure safe inspection practices.

· Report hazards and incidents.

· Support environmental and sustainability initiatives where applicable.

Skills & Experience

· A relevant bachelor’s degree or higher qualification plus 1 year of experience; OR at least six years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
