An established local government organisation is seeking an experienced Project & Contracts Lead to join its Technical Services team. This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to take ownership of a diverse capital works portfolio while driving improvements in procurement, contract governance and project delivery.

Your new role

• Managing the delivery of capital works and operational projects through external contractors.
• Leading procurement activities, tender processes and contract administration.
• Monitoring contractor performance, KPIs, milestones and service delivery outcomes.
• Maintaining contract governance frameworks, registers and reporting mechanisms.
• Supporting project planning, grant administration and project acquittals.
• Preparing reports and recommendations for senior leadership and Council.
• Managing stakeholder and community enquiries relating to projects.
• Collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Driving continuous improvement across procurement, contract management and project governance processes.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Experience in project management, contract administration and procurement.
• Strong knowledge of contract lifecycle management and contractor performance monitoring.
• Experience supporting tenders, evaluations and procurement processes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strong reporting, governance and compliance capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Knowledge of legislative, probity and governance requirements.
• Previous experience working within local government or a similar regulated environment will be highly regarded.
