Production Coordinator – Minerals Laboratory
Adelaide SA | Monday to Friday | 8:00am–4:00pm
Hays is partnering with a well-established minerals testing laboratory to recruit a Production Coordinator for its Adelaide operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced laboratory or production leader to take ownership of workflow coordination, production scheduling and team performance within a busy analytical environment.
Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring laboratory activities are planned, prioritised and delivered safely, accurately and on time. The laboratory processes exploration and grade control samples through multiple analytical stages, requiring strong organisation, clear communication and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly production activities across the laboratory.
- Monitor turnaround times, production targets and workflow schedules.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients regarding sample status and turnaround expectations.
- Work with supervisors to ensure staffing levels align with sample volumes and operational requirements.
- Support safe, efficient and compliant laboratory operations.
- Lead, coach and develop supervisors and laboratory personnel.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training activities.
- Monitor operational metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Resolve production issues and bottlenecks in a timely manner.
- Support compliance with quality, safety and accreditation requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Previous experience in a supervisory, coordination or management role within a laboratory, minerals, production, processing or related technical environment.
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and sample preparation processes.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting production deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
- A practical understanding of QA/QC and laboratory quality systems.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Exposure to Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) will be highly regarded.
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
