Your New Company
The Natural Disaster Program (NDP) Project Engineering Services provides engineering, administrative, and project delivery support to the Project Manager in the delivery of Natural Disaster Program (NDP) recovery works. The role contributes to the effective management and execution of preconstruction and construction activities and supports the administration of Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) from project inception through to completion. The Natural Disaster Program (NDP) Project Engineering Services is responsible for providing accurate engineering advice, maintaining project systems and documentation, supporting contractor management, and assisting in the delivery of projects aligned with approved scope, funding and timeframes.

Your New Role
  • Provide task-focused support to the Project Manager in the delivery of NDP projects and contracts.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project scope and assist in managing risks and mitigating delays.
  • Undertake site visits as required to support coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Attend contractor meetings and provide technical input.
  • Assist in managing the DRFA process, including preparation of submissions in line with the state government NDP guidelines and direction.
  • Ensure project expenditure is accurately recorded in SAP, including progress claims and end-of-month accruals
  • Maintain project budgets and forecasts in designated systems (3PCM).
  • Assist with contractor progress payment claims and project financial reporting.
  • Ensure project programming is maintained in P6.
  • Review contractor programs to confirm compliance with contract requirements including activities, milestones, sequencing and resourcing.
  • Develop and maintain short-term construction programs and support updates to the overall NDP program, including cost programming with a focus on direct and indirect expenditure.
  • Assist with procurement of contractors and suppliers in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures.
  • Support contract administration including variations, extensions of time, delay claims, and stakeholder correspondence.
  • Administer project documentation, maintain NDP filing structures, and ensure records are complete and compliant.
  • Maintain drawing registers and manage issue, control, and close-out of drawings including as-constructed and survey submissions to the ARMIS team.
  • Assist Contract Administration and Verification (CAV) teams by reviewing contractor construction procedures and confirming alignment with approved scope and funding.
  • Support effective communication with project teams, management, the Natural Disaster Program office and Communications team.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships in line with communication requirements.
  • Keep the Project Manager informed of project progress, issues, risks, and emerging concerns.
  • Capture completion photos and records in RADAR at completion of eligible works.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of DRFA completion documentation.

What you’ll need to succeed
  • Four-year Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) accredited under the Washington Accord or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum six (6) years’ experience delivering transport infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in delivering projects under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
  • Class C driver’s licence
