Role title: Occupational Therapist - Rehabilitation (Weekend)

Role type: Max term contract, part time (8 hours per week until January 2028)

Role grade: Occupational Therapist, Level 1-2

Shift details: 1 day per weekend, rotating between Saturday and Sunday

Salary: $79,419.00 to $113,301.00 Pro-rata + Super + Salary Packaging

About the role

Provide an integrated, patient-centred and evidence-based Occupational Therapy service to inpatients across the St Vincent's Hospital campus, including managing new referrals, reviewing patients and continuing therapy as outlined in handover lists. Support other clinical areas as required to meet hospital-wide demand and contribute to a seven-day rehabilitation service, including weekend shifts

Determine patients' occupational needs through standardised and-or functional assessments, and design and implement patient-centred interventions with a focus on therapy, discharge planning and patient flow

Demonstrate effective time management and organisational skills to prioritise and manage clinical and non-clinical tasks within finite resources, ensuring optimum standards of care

Work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, patient-centred care, with the ability to independently manage an allocated caseload and responsibilities when working without direct team support

Demonstrate responsible use of Occupational Therapy equipment, Department and organisational resources

Participate in clinical supervision, as well as contribute to Occupational Therapy service evaluation, quality improvement and research activities as indicated

About you

Recognised Degree-Diploma in Occupational Therapy, current Australian Occupational Therapy Registration (AHPRA), and a current unrestricted NSW Class C Driver's Licence

Previous post-graduate Occupational Therapy experience in acute and sub-acute hospital settings across a range of clinical areas, including neurology, general medicine-surgery and rehabilitation, within a multidisciplinary team environment

Demonstrated experience in clinical management , with the ability to apply sound clinical reasoning and independent professional judgement in routine matters

Demonstrated strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and ongoing professional development, with knowledge of current Occupational Therapy clinical practice standards and the Code of Ethics
