You'll lead a high-performing Market Operations team, supporting a portfolio of valued business clients while working closely with senior stakeholders, account managers, and internal banking teams.

Based in Eveleigh, this is an excellent opportunity to combine people leadership, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence within a complex banking environment.

Your new role

As a Market Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 10 team members within a middle-office function, ensuring exceptional service delivery for both internal and external customers.

This role will see you managing escalated client queries, driving team performance, strengthening client relationships, and partnering closely with senior management on operational and strategic initiatives.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of 10 Market Operations Specialists
  • Managing team performance, capability development, and employee engagement
  • Handling complex client escalations and service-related issues
  • Building strong relationships with high-profile customers, stakeholders, and Account Managers
  • Conducting stakeholder and client meetings both face-to-face and via video conferencing
  • Supporting the ongoing engagement and retention of key banking clients
  • Working closely with senior leadership on operational improvements and project initiatives
  • Acting as a key liaison between customers and internal business units
  • Ensuring service standards, risk controls, and compliance requirements are met
  • Driving a positive team culture while maintaining exceptional client outcomes

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous banking or financial services experience
  • A minimum of 12 months' experience in a Team Leader position
  • Proven experience managing team performance, coaching, and development
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Experience managing escalated customer issues and complex enquiries
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, solutions-focused leadership style
