Trade Assistant / Handyperson required for an 8-week assignment in ACT
Your New Company
Hays Trades & Labour is partnering with a reputable maintenance and facilities contractor operating across Canberra. Due to increased project demands, we are seeking a reliable and motivated Trade Assistant / Handyperson to support a range of maintenance and general labouring activities on commercial sites.

Your New Role
As a Trade Assistant / Handyperson, you will provide support across a variety of maintenance and site-based activities. Your responsibilities will include:

General labouring and site support duties Assisting tradespeople with maintenance and repair work Basic handyman tasks and building maintenance Manual handling and movement of materials Working safely at heights when required Maintaining clean and safe work environments Following site safety procedures and compliance requirements Supporting project works as directed by site supervisors

What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Current White Card Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card Working at Heights Certification Asbestos Awareness Training Silica Awareness Training Previous experience as a Trade Assistant, Handyperson or General Labourer Strong commitment to workplace health and safety Reliable work ethic and strong communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
