• Liaise with management, contractors, suppliers, and consultants regarding irrigation equipment selection, project requirements, and infrastructure development.
• Perform hydraulic assessments and analyse irrigation system performance to optimise water-use efficiency, system reliability, and crop productivity.
• Assess water source capacity, storage infrastructure, distribution networks, and future production requirements to support sustainable water management strategies.
• Research and recommend water-saving technologies, automation systems, moisture monitoring solutions, and other innovations that support efficient irrigation practices.
• Provide technical guidance and irrigation design support to management and operational personnel regarding irrigation infrastructure and system performance.

• Ensure irrigation designs and associated activities comply with environmental requirements, workplace health and safety obligations, and relevant water management standards.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation including design drawings, hydraulic calculations, specifications, project records, and infrastructure plans.
• Prepare reports relating to irrigation performance, infrastructure planning, water efficiency initiatives, and future irrigation development opportunities.
Assessment Criteria – Qualification, Work Experience and Skills
• A qualification in a relevant field or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing irrigation systems within agricultural, greenhouse, horticultural, or farming environments.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation design principles, hydraulic calculations, water distribution systems, pumps, filtration systems, and automated irrigation technologies.
