Key Tasks & Responsibilities – Fruit & Vegetable Packer
• Picking fresh fruit and vegetables according to order sheets, pick slips, or system instructions
• Packing produce accurately into cartons, trays, or bags to customer and company specifications
• Handling fruit and vegetables carefully to prevent bruising or damage
• Checking produce for quality, freshness, size, and appearance
• Removing damaged, spoiled, or sub standard items
• Weighing, sorting, and grading produce where required
• Labelling cartons correctly with product, weight, and batch details
• Building pallets and preparing orders for dispatch
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in packing areas
• Following food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance procedures
• Operating basic packing equipment safely (e.g. scales, conveyors, pallet jacks)
• Meeting daily production targets and dispatch deadlines
• Performing manual handling tasks safely, including lifting and stacking
• Reporting quality issues, shortages, or equipment faults to supervisors
• Complying with workplace health and safety requirements at all times
• Working cooperatively with team members and supervisors Skills & Experience
• Previous pick packing or warehouse experience preferred (not essential)
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and manual handling
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Reliable, punctual, and physically fit Requirements
• Experience in fruit and veg packing
• Prefer licence due to shift times
• Able to lift to required manual-handling limits
• Comfortable standing for long periods
• Willingness to work early starts, weekends, or overtime as required
• Understanding of food hygiene standards (training provided if needed)
• Ability to pass a medical, drug and alcohol
• Hours Sunday to Friday
• 11pm till 8am
• 3 am till 8am -9am
