Hays is partnering with a respected organisation seeking a customer-focused Front Desk Officer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys being the first point of contact for visitors and stakeholders, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.

This is an immediate start opportunity offering full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with a contract through to February 2027.

Your new role

As the Front Desk Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy reception and administration function. You will be responsible for providing a professional front-of-house experience while supporting a range of administrative activities across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a busy reception area and welcoming visitors
  • Answering and responding to enquiries via the engagement phone line
  • Providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinating meeting rooms and assisting with room setup and presentation
  • Managing incoming and outgoing mail and courier arrangements
  • Undertaking general administration duties and data entry
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of business documentation
  • Supporting the team with ad hoc administrative projects
  • Potentially transcribing media articles and other written content
  • Coordinating bookings and assisting with a range of operational support activities
  • Liaising with a range of stakeholders to resolve enquiries and support business operations

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Previous reception, front desk or customer service experience
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
  • A positive, adaptable and professional approach to work
  • A willingness to answer phone enquiries and provide high-quality customer support
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to drive a government vehicle for occasional operational requirements
  • A professional presentation and customer-first mindset

What you'll get in return
