An opportunity exists for an experienced Accountant to join a well-established organisation and play a key role in supporting the financial integrity of the business. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, this position is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, compliance, budgeting support, reconciliations, audit coordination, and maintaining effective financial controls. The role contributes to the ongoing improvement of finance processes, systems, and reporting capabilities while supporting the organisation's operational and strategic objectives.
Your new role
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Prepare and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Manage general ledger activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and audit workpapers.
Monitor expenditure against budgets and investigate variances.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
Provide regular financial reports and insights to key stakeholders.
Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Compliance & Audit
Coordinate audit requirements and provide supporting documentation to external auditors.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, taxation requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Prepare and lodge statutory returns and compliance reports.
Assist with regulatory, funding, and compliance reporting obligations.
Support the maintenance of effective internal controls and risk management processes.
Systems & Process Improvement
Support the integrity of financial transactions and controls.
Assist with payroll reconciliations and associated reporting.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of policies, procedures, and financial controls.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capability.
Support finance-related projects and system improvements.
Undertake additional duties as required.
What you'll need to succeed
CA or CPA qualification.
Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, reporting, and compliance.
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including reconciliations, month-end processes, and statutory reporting.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Advanced Excel and financial systems capabilities.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
