Finance Officer

Your new company

A well-established government organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join their finance team on a temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative environment while contributing to essential public sector services.

Your new role

  • Processing daily bank reconciliations and banking transactions.
  • Allocating and receipting incoming payments.
  • Raising and managing sundry debtor invoices.
  • Follow up outstanding payments
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
  • Provide support with BAS, FBT and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Support the broader finance team with general accounting and administrative duties.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Receivable or Assistant Accountant role.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exposure to public sector accounting is highly regarded
