Your new company
This opportunity supports a major First Nations forum focused on digital inclusion and accessibility for remote and regional communities. Bringing together participants from across Australia, the event aims to facilitate meaningful discussion and gather insights on improving digital access and outcomes for First Nations peoples.
Your new role
As a facilitator, you will lead one of three small-group discussions during the afternoon breakout sessions. Working alongside a dedicated note taker, you will guide conversations in a respectful and culturally appropriate way while helping participants feel comfortable sharing their perspectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Facilitating discussion groups in a culturally respectful and inclusive manner
• Encouraging participation and ensuring all attendees have an opportunity to contribute
• Using active listening skills to identify key themes and discussion points
• Creating a safe and welcoming environment for participants from diverse backgrounds
• Working collaboratively with a note taker to capture key outcomes
• Presenting a summary of your group's key takeaways to the broader forum
• Attending a pre-event briefing before the session commences
What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for people who can naturally engage groups, encourage discussion, and build rapport quickly.
You will bring:
• Previous experience in facilitation, team leadership, people management, HR, community engagement, training, stakeholder engagement or similar roles
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• The ability to facilitate productive conversations without dominating discussions
• Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with First Nations peoples
• A respectful, collaborative and professional approach
• Confidence engaging with diverse groups and perspectives
