Full-Time Disabilities Services Officer (Multiple positions)

At Just Better Care, we CARE about our customers and our team. Our office covers four territories in the Sydney Metro area; Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Sutherland and St George. Just Better Care Eastern Suburb is looking for Disabilities Services Officer to join our caring and dynamic team. This role involves working with customers to support them in many different aspects of their day-to-day life. The role involves supporting customers with mental, physical, social and emotional disabilities. Support is provided in a manner that maintains the customer’s independence, is respectful and safe.

Main responsibility
• Demonstrate a commitment to best practice, ensuring that all services are provided in a caring and respectful way in accordance with Just Better Care’s policy and procedures.
• Assessing clients' needs and developing individual support plans
• Social support/transportation: social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments
• Clinical support: medication assistance
• Supporting customers in the use of aids and personal equipment including: standing or walking frames, wheelchairs, manual or electric hoists, sliding sheets or moving boards, hearing aids and other physical aids
• Supporting customers with complex and/or challenging behaviours
• Monitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progress
• Providing a safe environment for the client by monitoring their surroundings for potential dangers such as fire hazards and tripping hazards.
• Supporting clients socially and arranging visits or outings in the community.
• Ensuring that all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Where offices are using Mobility Options, community support workers are required to use the application for all schedule visits as per their training.
• Attending and participating in staff meetings and training sessions as directed by the Coordinator.
• Ensuring that all responsible steps are taken to protect personal safety at work and avoid adversely affecting the health or safety of any other person at the workplace in accordance with requirements under the Work Health and Safety legalisation.
• Participating in activities aimed at the continuous improvement of services.

What you will need:
• Qualification in the relevant field.
• At least 2 years’ relevant work experience.
• NDIS Workers Check or Police Clearance
• Current Australian Drivers Licence
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Ability to be contacted by either telephone or email
• Ability or willingness to assist or work with customer in daily living and personal care skills
• Be reliable & productive
• Valuing attitudes towards customers
• Ability to work as part of a Team and maintain good working relationships
• Commitment to self-improvement
• Good written and verbal skills in English

Salary Range: $80,000 to 90,000 per annum excluding superannuation. Why Join Us:
