Hays are excited to be partnering with a local council located in Melbourne’s northern suburbs as they’re seeking an experienced Coordinator of Property Services to step into a short-term opportunity. This role has been established as part of a recent restructure and offers the chance to lead a small, high-performing team while overseeing a diverse property portfolio.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a property professional who can quickly add value, provide leadership, and ensure seamless delivery of property services.
About the Role
You will lead a small team and oversee a broad range of property-related functions, including lease and licence management, property transactions, and general property enquiries.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of the organisation’s property portfolio while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and support a small Property Services team, setting clear priorities and driving performance outcomes.
- Manage the full lifecycle of leases and licences, including negotiations, renewals, compliance and stakeholder liaison.
- Oversee and maintain the organisation’s property portfolio, including registers, data accuracy and reporting.
- Coordinate property acquisitions, disposals and other transactions in line with legal and governance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations relating to property management.
- Manage competing priorities across multiple properties and service demands.
- Provide high-quality advice and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, tenants, licensees and external advisors.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a service delivery environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple properties, priorities and deadlines.
- Relevant qualifications in property, real estate, business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience managing property-related activities, including leases, licences and property transactions.
- Sound understanding of property legislation, governance and compliance requirements within a local government context.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
