The brand is known for hand-crafted, unapologetically authentic Indian cuisine from tandoor-fired classics and slow-cooked curries to regional thalis made with fresh, top-quality ingredients and chefs trained in traditional Indian cooking techniques. Position Overview: Masala Kitchen Westfield Kotara is seeking an experienced Chef to join its kitchen team and help deliver the brand's signature modern Indian menu. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience with authentic Indian cooking techniques, including tandoor work, spice blending, and slow-cooked curries, and will be capable of maintaining consistency and quality across a busy casual dining venue. Minimum requirements: Certificate II or III in commercial Cookery with at least 1 year experience Roles and Responsibilities: Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and menu standards, with particular focus on authentic Indian dishes including tandoor-fired items, curries, and regional specialties Take orders from chefs or supervisors and prepare dishes to specification Prepare ingredients for cooking, including cutting, weighing, and mixing Cook and present food, including tandoor items, curries, and accompaniments, to a consistent standard Portion and plate food for service according to established guidelines Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas and equipment Follow and enforce hygiene and food safety regulations in the kitchen Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation to minimise wastage Assist chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation during busy service periods Skills & Attributes: Strong grounding in traditional Indian cooking techniques and spice work Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen Reliable, attentive to detail, and able to follow instructions accurately Good communication and coordination with kitchen and front-of-house staff How to Apply: To apply for this position, please email your resume to .
