Your new company
Our client is a niche engineering firm focused on enabling the energy transition through specialist grid connection and commissioning services. Their team combines deep technical expertise across power systems, modelling, HV commissioning, GPS compliance and project delivery, working on some of Australia's most exciting renewable energy and infrastructure developments.
Your new role
Working closely with internal engineering and project development teams, as well as clients, network providers, OEMs and AEMO, you will support the successful delivery and commissioning of large-scale energy projects across Australia.
Projects include:
Utility-scale solar farms
Wind farms
BESS projects
Greenfield HV substations
Brownfield HV substation upgrades and augmentation projects
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and executing testing and commissioning activities for HV assets
Developing commissioning plans, schedules and procedures
Managing FAT and SAT programs
Testing protection and control systems using Omicron and Doble test equipment
Testing primary plant including transformers, circuit breakers, CTs and CVTs
Supporting safe energisation activities across project sites
Undertaking SCADA and signal testing activities
Producing technical reports and commissioning documentation
Supporting GPS compliance and network connection activities where applicable
Collaborating with clients, OEMs, TNSPs and regulatory stakeholders throughout project delivery
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Advanced Diploma in Power Systems
Minimum 3 years' experience in testing and commissioning of utility substations and/or renewable energy projects
Strong understanding of power systems, transmission and distribution networks, protection and control systems
Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end commissioning programs for HV substations or utility-scale renewable projects
Experience developing commissioning plans, schedules and procedures
Proven experience managing energisation activities within brownfield and greenfield environments
Knowledge of SCADA and control systems testing
Strong technical report writing and stakeholder communication skills
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
