Join us as a Mining Chef at a mining accommodation site, where you’ll prepare hearty, high-quality meals that keep hardworking residents fuelled for their day. From sizzling breakfasts to satisfying dinners, your cooking will make a real impact.
Role Highlights
- Roster: 7 or 14-day swing, 10-hour shifts (day and night)
- Travel: Regional NSW sites. Many locations are car-accessible only, so your own transport is advantageous. FIFO options are available from Sydney/ Melbourne/ Brisbane Airports.
- Employment: Casual/temporary role with the opportunity to join the Hays Mining Facilities Services talent pool, opening doors to ongoing opportunities across NSW.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Minimum Australian Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential)
- Proven experience in bulk cooking, including hot breakfast buffets, hearty mains, and desserts
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene (NSW Food Safety certification required)
- Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts on rotating day and night rosters
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Willingness to work on 7 or 14-day swing rosters and travel to regional locations
- Immediate availability preferred
- Ability to complete a full medical assessment and National Police Check
- Construction Safety Card (Whitecard)
