New Hop & Spice Pty Ltd, operating under the trade name Hop & Spice, is a renowned establishment in the vibrant tourism and hospitality sector. Nestled at 284 Ballarat Road in Braybrook, Victoria -3019, our restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere and exceptional dining experiences.
With a capacity to host up to 45 patrons for both lunch and dinner, we operate seven days a week from 11:30 am to 9:30 pm. In addition to our dine-in services, we excel in takeaway offerings and specialize in catering for a diverse array of events, including weddings, birthdays, special occasions, and various social gatherings.
As a Chef at Hop & Spice, you will be a vital member of our culinary team, tasked with creating mouthwatering dishes that captivate our patrons and embody our dedication to excellence and innovation. We are in search of a candidate who possesses a deep passion for the culinary arts, excels in a high-energy environment, and is devoted to serving exceptional cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and develop menus, introducing new recipes, ingredients, and culinary techniques while considering food and labour costs.
• Prepare and cook a range of dishes in accordance with established recipes, cooking procedures, quality standards, and presentation requirements.
• Monitor the quality of food and dishes throughout all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on appropriate cooking procedures to kitchen staff.
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen activities to ensure efficient food preparation and service operations.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen procedures.
• Communicate with management, dietitians, and kitchen staff regarding food preparation, menu requirements, and dietary considerations.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of food supplies, arrange timely procurement, and ensure ingredients are fresh and suitable for use.
• Explain and enforce food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements within the kitchen.
• Contribute to menu development by monitoring culinary trends and introducing suitable improvements to existing dishes and recipes.
• Monitor food storage and preservation practices to maintain food quality and minimise waste.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food quality, consistency, and presentation throughout kitchen operations.
To excel in this role, you must possess excellent customer service and people skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work effectively within a team environment.
Skills & Experience:
• Relevant qualification as a chef.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Customer-service focused, with positive attitude and work ethic.
Rewards:
Qualified candidates can look forward to a competitive salary package of AU$80,000 per year plus super for a full-time, permanent role working 38 hours per week.
