Jai Baba Ki Pty Ltd trading as Mighty Moe's Pizza and Grill operates a food service establishment in Colac, Victoria, offering a broad range of freshly prepared food and beverages for customers. The business provides classic and gourmet pizzas together with BBQ ribs and wings, burgers, pasta, risotto, sides, desserts and beverages. The business places emphasis on fresh ingredients, quality food and personalised customer service.

An opportunity is available for a reliable and customer-focused Cafe Worker to support the day-to-day food service operations. The successful applicant will assist customers with orders, prepare and serve food and beverages, operate the point-of-sale system, maintain clean customer and service areas, and support other employees during busy trading periods.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• AQF Certificate I or equivalent, or relevant secondary education.
• Previous experience in a café, restaurant, takeaway or similar food service environment will be advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and beverage service.
• Understanding of food hygiene, cleanliness and safe food handling practices.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy food service environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• Prepare and serve food and beverages for consumption on the premises and for takeaway customers.
• Assist with preparing and presenting menu items such as pizzas, burgers, pasta, risotto, sides, desserts and beverages in accordance with established procedures.
• Take customers' food and beverage orders accurately and communicate orders to relevant kitchen staff.
• Receive and process customer orders placed through the business's ordering system and assist with coordinating pickup and delivery orders.
• Operate cash registers and point-of-sale equipment, process cash and electronic payments and provide receipts or sales invoices where required.
• Serve completed food and beverage orders to customers and provide assistance with customer enquiries.
• Clear used dishes, plates, cutlery, cups and other items from customer areas.
• Clean and prepare tables and service areas for subsequent customers.
• Wash dishes, cutlery, utensils and other food service equipment as required.
• Clean and maintain café and food service equipment, food preparation surfaces and other service equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of customer, counter, food service and work areas in accordance with food safety requirements.
• Assist with unpacking, checking, storing and rotating incoming stock.
• Replenish beverages, packaging materials, condiments and other service supplies as required.
• Assist in maintaining an orderly service area and ensuring customer orders are provided promptly and accurately.
• Follow workplace health and safety, food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
