ADAPTIVE CONCEPTS PTY LTD We are seeking full-time Cabinetmakers to join our team, responsible for: Examine drawings, blueprints and work orders to determine operational methods and calculate material requirement Determine specifications and measure and mark dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock prior to cutting, following blueprints, to ensure a tight fit and quality product. Marking out, cutting and shaping, assembling and fitting wood to manufacture and repair furniture to specification Attach parts or subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps and reinforce joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare articles for finishing Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools. Construct frames for chairs, couches and other bespoke furniture Ability to estimate the amounts, types, or costs of needed materials. The position will report to the Director. The job will be full time, with hours to be worked between 9.00 am and 5.30 pm Monday to Friday. Successful applicants should have: Relevant qualifications including certificate III or IV in cabinetmaking Relevant 3 years cabinetmaking experience in lieu of formal qualifications Experience in using grinders, chisels, planes, saws and wood files Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
