Associate Pastor – Full Time Sydney Wilderness Life Church(Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Pastor to join our pastoral ministry team. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Senior Pastor and church leadership to provide spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, pastoral care and discipleship, while supporting the Church’s worship, evangelism and broader ministry activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and deliver sermons, Bible studies and biblical teaching during worship services, prayer meetings and other church gatherings.
• Assist in planning, leading and conducting regular worship services and other religious services.
• Provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance and counselling to church members and families.
• Conduct pastoral visitation and provide spiritual support to members who are elderly, unwell or experiencing personal or family difficulties.
• Plan and lead discipleship programs, Bible study groups, prayer meetings and other spiritual formation activities.
• Mentor, train and provide spiritual guidance to ministry leaders and church volunteers.
• Support and participate in evangelism, mission and community outreach ministries.
• Welcome and assist with the integration of newcomers into the congregation and church ministries.
• Assist in planning and conducting retreats, seminars, conferences, special worship services and other ministry events.
• Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral support to designated ministry groups within the congregation.
• Work collaboratively with the Senior Pastor, pastoral staff and church leadership in planning and implementing ministry activities.
• Perform other pastoral and religious duties consistent with the role of Associate Pastor. Qualifications and Experience
• Relevant theological, ministry or religious qualification, or equivalent recognised religious training.
• Demonstrated experience in pastoral ministry, preaching, biblical teaching and pastoral care.
• Sound knowledge of Christian theology, Scripture and church ministry.
• Demonstrated ability to provide spiritual leadership, pastoral counselling and discipleship.
• Experience in evangelism, mission, discipleship or other church ministries will be highly regarded.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with church leadership, staff, volunteers and members.
