Our client is a well-established Australian supplier of engineered timber products and flooring systems used across both residential and commercial construction projects. Their solutions are specified by builders, developers and construction professionals, with a strong reputation for quality products, technical expertise and customer service.
With the business continuing to grow, an opportunity has become available for an Account Manager to join their Queensland team.
Your new role
This is a field-based Account Management role focused on maintaining existing relationships while identifying opportunities for new business growth across Queensland.
Working closely with builders, developers, engineers, merchants and construction professionals, you will be responsible for promoting a range of engineered timber and flooring solutions used across residential and commercial projects. You'll support customers throughout the project life cycle, from specification through to delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and growing an established customer base
- Developing new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and relationship building
- Building relationships with builders, developers, engineers and key industry stakeholders
- Working alongside merchants such as Bunnings and Mitre 10 while supporting end users on projects
- Conducting site visits and customer meetings across Queensland
- Providing product advice, quotations and technical support
- Educating customers on engineered timber and flooring solutions
- Supporting project delivery through collaboration with internal teams
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in Account Management, Territory Management or Business Development
- Experience in construction, building materials, timber, flooring, hardware or a related industry
- Ability to build strong relationships with builders, developers, merchants and other key stakeholders
- A proactive approach to winning new business and growing existing accounts
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
- Experience managing a territory and working autonomously
- Comfortable being on the road and conducting regular customer and site visits
- A background servicing residential and/or commercial construction projects will be highly regarded.
