Our client is a well-established national provider of fire protection and essential services, supporting a wide range of commercial and industrial clients across Australia. With a strong reputation for service excellence and safety, they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their Sydney-based team.

Your new role

As Account Manager/Operations Manager, you will oversee the delivery of service and maintenance operations for a key client portfolio. You will lead a team of field technicians, manage customer relationships, and ensure service delivery meets contractual, compliance and performance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of technicians across service and maintenance activities
  • Managing daily operations to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Conducting toolbox talks, inductions and ongoing team development activities
  • Supporting workforce planning, scheduling and resource allocation
  • Managing client relationships and attending regular account management meetings
  • Monitoring contract performance and ensuring service delivery aligns with client expectations.
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and key performance indicators
  • Carrying out site inspections, audits and field leadership activities
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational performance and service outcomes
  • Assisting with debtor management and administrative duties where required
  • Resolving operational issues and implementing practical solutions to enhance service delivery

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous leadership, operations or account management experience within a service-based environment
  • Exposure to the fire protection, electrical, mechanical, building services or facilities management sectors
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Experience managing customer accounts and building long-term client relationships
  • Excellent organisational and scheduling abilities
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer expectations with operational performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
