Workshop Manager

Our client is a well-established and growing organisation within the transport and logistics industry. Known for their commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency, they are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee and optimise their workshop operations.

Your new role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the workshop, ensuring all repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and managing workshop operations and staff
  • Planning, scheduling, and prioritising workloads
  • Supervising and supporting workshop personnel
  • Ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer, industry and legislative standards
  • Maintaining preventative maintenance programmes across vehicles, plant and equipment
  • Managing workshop documentation including job cards, records and compliance reporting
  • Processing purchase orders and invoices
  • Sourcing and managing parts, suppliers, and external service providers
  • Communicating progress and operational priorities with internal stakeholders
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and compliant workshop environment

What you'll need to succeed

  • Relevant trade qualification (essential)
  • Proven experience maintaining heavy vehicles, plant or equipment
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop environment
  • Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Sound knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
