Job title: Vehicle Painter NOVA SMASH REPAIRS PTY LTD Location: East Perth, Perth WA Job type: Full time; permanent Pay: $80,000 - $95,000 Job description: We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Painter to join our team. In this role you will prepare surfaces of vehicles, match and mix colours, and apply paint to restore vehicles to a high-quality factory finish. Key duties:
• Prepare surfaces to be painted by hand or machine, including removing rough spots and sanding surfaces
• Mask areas not to be painted with tape and paper
• Colour match and mix paints (by eye or using computer colour-matching technology) to achieve correct shade
• Apply primer and finishing coats using spray guns, and sand surfaces between coats
• Touch up paintwork and apply polish to vehicles
• Remove masking papers and wax/polish finished paintwork
• Paint signs or artwork on vehicles as required
• Treat vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals
• Maintain a clean, safe spray booth and work area in line with workplace health and safety requirements
• Liaise with panel beaters, workshop supervisors and customers regarding repair/paint scope and timelines Skills and experience:
• Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology (or equivalent), or at least 3 years' relevant experience
• Sound knowledge of spray-painting equipment and colour-matching techniques
• Strong attention to detail and colour perception
• Current driver's licence [adjust/remove as required]
