Truck Driver Rocky Creek Abattoir – Tolga, QLD Full-time

Salary: $72,000–$80,000 per annum + superannuation

Rocky Creek Abattoir is seeking 2 experienced Truck Drivers to join our team in Tolga, Far North Queensland.

The Truck Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of livestock, meat products, equipment and other goods to and from Rocky Creek Abattoir.

The successful applicant will ensure deliveries are completed safely and on time while complying with transport legislation, workplace procedures and company requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
• Operating company vehicles safely and professionally
• Transporting livestock, meat products and equipment
• Safely loading and unloading vehicles
• Completing required transport documentation
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting defects
• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness
• Complying with Chain of Responsibility requirements
• Ensuring transport activities comply with workplace procedures
• Assisting with general operational duties when required

Skills and experience:
• Experience driving rigid trucks
• Excellent driving history
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to maintain accurate records

Essential requirements:
• Current Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence or higher
• Current Driver Licence

Livestock transport experience and a Forklift Licence would be advantageous.

The role involves manual handling, loading and unloading, working outdoors and climbing into and out of vehicles. The successful applicant will be required to comply with Rocky Creek Abattoir's WHS and fatigue management requirements.

Willingness to undertake Q fever vaccination is required.
