As a Nurse Practitioner within the Safe Assessment Unit, you will provide autonomous and collaborative patient care, conducting comprehensive assessments, prescribing medications, initiating diagnostic investigations and coordinating referrals to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes for complex patients.
Working across the Safe Assessment Unit and Emergency Department, you will help shape innovative models of care, strengthen partnerships between Nursing and Medical teams, drive service improvements, contribute to research and data initiatives, and play a key role in advancing best-practice care.

What you will bring to the role
Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA including endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner or working towards same as per the NMBA Guidelines on endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner, with evidence of eligibility to attain authorisation within 3 years.
Post graduate qualifications in Drug and Alcohol or relevant clinical specialty and Masters of Nurse Practitioner or working towards.
Demonstrated high level knowledge and advanced clinical nursing skills including comprehensive assessment, interpretation of diagnostics, implementation of treatment modalities and relevant referral skills applied to a broad range of challenging, complex and changing situations.
Demonstrated understanding of Drug and Alcohol Service and ability to lead and implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation, and review of evidence-based research.
Proven high level knowledge and expertise in complex patient centred consultancy, practice development activities including mentoring, education, active participation in communities of practice, policy development and quality improvement.
Demonstrated advanced clinical leadership role, negotiation, liaison, interpersonal and problem-solving skills across Drug and Alcohol service.
Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability whilst working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Current Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
