Your new company

Our client is an organisation based in Hobart. They are looking for a Test lead to Lead the planning and delivery of legacy application modernisation initiatives.

• Develop and implement a phased roadmap for migrating legacy components to modern technology platforms.
• Assess and mitigate business continuity, cyber security, and operational risks associated with legacy systems.
• Oversee solution design, development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Retain and integrate validated backend databases and business-critical data structures where appropriate.
• Introduce and embed contemporary software engineering practices, including:
  • AI-assisted development
  • Source code management and version control
  • Automated testing frameworks
  • Continuous integration and deployment practices
  • Release and change management processes
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure solutions meet operational requirements.
• Reduce key-person dependencies through documentation, knowledge transfer, and sustainable support models.
• Monitor platform performance, security, and reliability throughout the modernisation lifecycle.

Your new role

• Demonstrated experience leading legacy application modernisation or digital transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, database systems, and software development lifecycles.
• Experience migrating applications from legacy technologies to modern platforms.
• Knowledge of cyber security, business continuity, and risk management principles.
• Experience implementing Agile delivery methodologies and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex technical projects and multidisciplinary teams.
