This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile, mission-critical engineering programmes in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Contracting position, defence clearance required (NV1 / Baseline) Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take ownership of delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across complex systems. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge defence projects. Your new role

Lead and deliver mechanical design activities across project life cycles. Develop innovative, robust, and cost-effective design solutions Produce and maintain detailed design documentation and drawings Support engineering change processes and continuous improvement initiatives Review and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and efficiency Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering and project teams

What you'll need to succeed

Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within defence, maritime, or complex engineering environments Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g. Inventor or similar) and drafting standards Experience designing sheet metal enclosures or structural systems is highly regarded. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and relevant standards Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Degree qualified in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or related discipline Defence clearance
