About the Role

Canterbury Hospital is committed to providing high quality healthcare services to our local community, focused on patient and family-centred care. Since opening in 1929 our hospital continues to grow to meet the changing needs of our community and incorporate new models of care.

Our 22-bed Geriatric Rehabilitation Unit, supported by a discharge lounge, is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our team.

We take a holistic and collaborative approach to patient care, working closely with our nursing, medical and multidisciplinary teams to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes for our patients. Our team is committed to creating a positive environment where patients feel supported throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Friday lunchtime groups facilitated by nursing staff.

Thursday OT breakfast groups followed by BINGO and other activities to encourage patient participation and social connection.

A strong focus on holistic rehabilitation, patient engagement and supporting patients to achieve their individual goals.

Ideal Candidate

Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).

Understanding of evidence informed practice and critical thinking.

Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
