As a Registered Nurse, you will support patients throughout their surgical journey, ensuring they receive compassionate, patient-centred care from pre-admission through to postoperative recovery. In the preoperative phase, you will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, reviewing medical history, allergies, fasting status and baseline observations to ensure patients are prepared for anaesthesia and surgery. You will also provide education, reassurance and emotional support, helping patients feel informed, comfortable and confident as they progress through their perioperative experience.

Your ability to remain calm, communicate effectively and provide evidence-based care will help ensure the highest standards of patient safety. In the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), you will provide comprehensive postoperative care, monitoring patients' airway, breathing, circulation, pain levels and overall recovery. You will administer prescribed therapies, assess treatment effectiveness and identify potential complications, ensuring concerns are escalated promptly and appropriately. As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will facilitate safe patient transfers and discharge from recovery through thorough clinical handover, accurate documentation and strong collaboration with colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while contributing to excellence in perioperative nursing care at Campbelltown Hospital.
Are You the Right Fit? You are a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering person-centred care and achieving the best possible outcomes for patients. Guided by the NSW Health CORE Values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, you are dedicated to providing safe, high-quality care while contributing positively to the patient experience.
As a healthcare professional, you bring current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining professional standards and evidence-based practice. You value teamwork and work collaboratively with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to support excellent patient care and service delivery. You are confident using technology in the clinical environment and have demonstrated computer literacy, including an understanding of relevant health information systems.
Your ability to accurately document, access and manage patient information supports safe, efficient and effective care.
