  • Duration: Until Dec 24th with potential for extensions.
  • Location: Newcastle, NSW | Hybrid (3 Days On-site)
  • Rate: Up to $865 + Super daily


We are partnering with a large and highly regarded higher education organisation to appoint an experienced Agile Project Manager to join a strategic transformation initiative focused on improving the digital experience for students and staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a delivery-focused Project Manager who enjoys operating in Agile environments and leading cross-functional teams through complex technology and business change. The organisation is undertaking a significant roadmap of work and requires an individual who can maintain delivery momentum while also supporting planning and investment decisions for future program phases.

Applicants with experience within Higher Education, Government or similarly complex stakeholder environments will be highly regarded.


The Opportunity

Working within an established Agile delivery environment, you will be responsible for driving roadmap delivery, supporting governance activities, managing stakeholders and ensuring delivery teams remain focused on key outcomes.

The program operates using a ScrumBan approach and is supported by mature governance practices, executive reporting and financial oversight.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver against an approved roadmap while supporting ongoing prioritisation activities.
  • Provide project leadership across business and technology teams.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance, reporting and escalation processes.
  • Prepare and present executive-level reporting across delivery, finances, risks and outcomes.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across academic, operational and technology functions.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.
  • Monitor risks, issues, dependencies and overall delivery performance.
  • Support vendor engagement and procurement activities, including requirements development, evaluation processes and contract execution.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, knowledge transfer and continuity of delivery.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Strong experience as a Project Manager delivering complex technology and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven Agile delivery experience within Scrum, Kanban or ScrumBan environments.
  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and leading multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive-level engagement.
  • Experience managing governance, reporting, budgets, risks and dependencies.
  • Ability to work effectively across both business and technical teams.
  • Experience supporting procurement and vendor management activities.
  • Relevant Agile and/or Scrum certifications will be highly regarded.
