Position: Program or Project Administrator (ANZSCO 511112). Work Type: Full Time Location: Rockhampton City QLD 4700 Salary: $80,000 - 100,000 + Super

Our client, OB Labour & Construction, is seeking a highly motivated and organised Program or Project Administrator to join their growing team.

OB Labour & Construction is a specialist carpentry and steel-fixing company delivering residential and commercial projects across Queensland. Their scope of work includes carpentry, formwork, steel-structure installations, and steel fixing. As the business continues to grow, they require a capable administrator to support project coordination and operational functions across their project portfolio.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are planned, tracked, and administered efficiently — supporting site teams, management, and subcontractors with the information and coordination they need to deliver work on time and to standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor the progress of construction projects, tracking milestones, timelines, and deliverables
  • Maintain and manage project documentation including contracts, drawings, specifications, SWMS, and compliance records
  • Liaise with site supervisors, subcontractors, trades, and clients to facilitate clear communication and smooth project workflows
  • Prepare and distribute project reports, schedules, and status updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Support procurement and logistics coordination, including tools, materials, and equipment scheduling
  • Assist in the preparation of tenders, quotes, and project briefs
  • Maintain WHS records, induction registers, and site safety documentation in line with legislative requirements
  • Manage administrative systems including project files, correspondence, and invoicing support
  • Identify and escalate project risks, issues, or delays to management in a timely manner

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a project administration, construction administration, or similar coordinating role
  • Relevant qualification in business administration, project management, or construction management (Certificate III or above, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of construction project workflows and site operations
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications (advantageous)
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management or scheduling tools
  • White Card (Construction Induction Safety Certificate) desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Valid Australian driver's licence
