Looking for Part Time Data Engineer - Brisbane - 5 days per fortnight
Your New Company:
QLD State Government is undertaking a multi-year Data & Analytics transformation through the Queensland Government. This initiative focuses on strengthening foundational data capabilities, enabling advanced analytics, and leveraging AI-driven insights to improve decision-making across claims and asset data. The program aims to build integrated datasets, improve reporting maturity, and implement next-generation technologies including GenAI and predictive analytics.

Your New Role:
As a Part-Time Data Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the data uplift program by developing and maintaining robust data pipelines and preparing high-quality datasets for analytics and reporting. Reporting to the Manager - Data, BI & Analytics, you will work within a collaborative team to deliver scalable data solutions. Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Databricks Process and transform data from Excel and other structured/semi-structured sources Prepare and load asset data into modern data platforms Build and optimise integrated datasets linking claims and asset data Support creation of claims history datasets for reporting and predictive modelling Ensure high standards of data quality, validation, and consistency Contribute to performance optimisation across data processes

What you will need to succeed:
Strong SQL skills (mandatory) Strong Python programming experience (mandatory) Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks Experience working with structured and semi-structured datasets Exposure to data quality, validation, and performance optimisation practices Ability to work in a collaborative environment and deliver within project timelines
