About the role
As a Nuclear Medicine Registrar, you will join a highly skilled multidisciplinary clinical and academic team delivering high-quality Nuclear Medicine services across the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital- Lyell McEwin Hospital. Working under the supervision of experienced Nuclear Medicine Consultants, you will perform and report Nuclear Medicine studies while contributing to safe, accurate and patient-centred diagnostic care.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical expertise while contributing to teaching, research, quality improvement and professional leadership. You will support the effective operation of Nuclear Medicine services, teach medical students and trainees, participate in clinical audits and quality assurance activities, and represent SA Medical Imaging at multidisciplinary and clinico-radiology meetings. Through collaboration with clinicians, technologists and other health professionals, you will help foster a respectful and cooperative team environment focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for patients and their families.
About You
You are a collaborative and motivated medical professional with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, continuous learning and the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
Appropriate qualifications and registration: You hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification and are eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. RACP trainees will have completed basic training, including written and clinical examinations, while RANZCR trainees will have completed all Phase 2 training requirements and examinations. Specialist qualifications and registration are required for appointment at the MDP3 level.
Strong clinical knowledge and experience: You bring demonstrated experience and competence in Medical Imaging and-or Clinical Medicine, supported by an in-depth understanding of contemporary clinical practice, quality management, clinical governance and Work Health and Safety principles.
Excellent communication and teamwork: You communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, carers, colleagues and other health professionals, and have the ability to build effective working relationships, manage conflict constructively and contribute positively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to leadership, teaching and improvement: You demonstrate strong problem-solving, decision-making and time-management skills, with a commitment to clinical audit, research and continuing medical education. You are also confident teaching and supervising trainees, acting as a positive role model and supporting respectful, ethical and inclusive workplace practices.
