Motor Mechanic (General)

Rocky Creek Abattoir – Tolga, QLD Full-time Salary: $72,000–$80,000 per annum + superannuation

Rocky Creek Abattoir is seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic (General) to join our team in Tolga, Far North Queensland.

The Motor Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing Rocky Creek Abattoir's fleet of vehicles and mechanical equipment to support safe, reliable and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities include:
• Diagnosing mechanical faults
• Servicing company vehicles
• Repairing engines, transmissions and braking systems
• Carrying out preventative maintenance
• Completing mechanical inspections
• Assisting with breakdown repairs
• Maintaining workshop and service records
• Ordering replacement parts
• Ensuring repairs and servicing comply with manufacturer specifications
• Maintaining safe workshop practices

Skills and experience:
• Strong mechanical diagnostic ability
• Experience maintaining commercial vehicles
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently

Essential requirements:
• Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic
• Current Driver Licence

A HR Licence and Forklift Licence would be advantageous. The position involves working in a workshop environment, standing for extended periods and undertaking manual handling and heavy lifting.

Willingness to undertake Q fever vaccination is required.
