Steel Mains is Australia's leading manufacturer and supplier of complete steel pipeline systems for the transportation of water and wastewater, offering a total solution approach to its customers.

We are looking for a number of Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our team based at in Somerton, Victoria. This is a full-time role that will be working as part of our Fabrication team reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor.

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to: Heavy / Structural and pressure class fabrication of Steel Pipe Systems Working on Lobster Backs, Tees Reducers Fabrication / Welding of Steel Pipe Pieces Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes MIG and Flux core welding Welding and repairing pipe Welding steel pipeline systems for the transportation of water and wastewater Metal fabrication Grinding Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments

The successful candidate will have: Trade qualified Metal Fabricator Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/plans Proven experience flux core welding Well versed with GMAW and FCAW welding processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and remain motivated Energic and ‘can-do’ approach Full working rights Be willing to undergo pre-employment medical Be willing to undertake a weld qualification testing and layout/mark-up testing as applicable

Rate of pay: The successful candidate will initially commence at an hourly base rate of $37.82 per hour.

Other standard entitlements include: Overtime Superannuation – at SGC rate Annual Leave – 4 weeks per year
