6-Month Contract | Up to $90 per hour | Perth CBD Your new company Our client is a leading organisation within the WA industrial and process sector, playing a key role in supporting large-scale operations across the state. Due to multiple internal secondments, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension. Your new role This is a varied, hands-on position supporting both project engineering and operational activities within a busy engineering function. You will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions. Key responsibilities include:

Conveyor design for expansion projects (Sidewinder preferred)
Pneumatic system design (including hygiene air systems)
Conveyor skirting design and technical reviews
Throughput improvement and feasibility assessments
Troubleshooting equipment issues, including elevator performance
Managing a backlog of Engineering Work Requests (EWRs)
Coordinating external contractors and service providers
Providing engineering support to operations and maintenance teams

What you'll need to succeed   You are a versatile and adaptable Mechanical Engineer with a broad technical background and the ability to operate across multiple functions.       You will bring:   

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Experience in mechanical engineering within process plant, materials handling, or industrial environments
Strong exposure to operations and maintenance support
Proven project engineering capability
Experience managing engineering work requests or similar scopes
Ability to coordinate contractors and manage stakeholders
Experience with Sidewinder conveyor design software desirable
