Join a purpose-driven team turning waste into valuable resources Your new company Our client is a leading player in Australia's recycling and resource recovery sector, committed to sustainability and reducing waste through innovative recycling solutions. Operating large-scale facilities across the country, they work closely with councils, communities, and industry to give materials a second life. The Townsville site is a busy, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. As part of the recycling industry, the site processes mixed waste streams. Candidates should be comfortable working in an environment where there can be strong odours and typical recycling yard conditions. Your new role As a Line Sorter, you'll play a key role in helping recover recyclable materials and supporting sustainable outcomes. The current vacancies are for afternoon shifts from 4pm to 9pm Monday to Friday. Your duties will include:

Sorting recyclable materials from a conveyor belt
Removing waste and contaminants to protect equipment and processed materials
Identifying and separating items by type, size, condition, and colour
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with WHS requirements
Assisting with general labouring tasks across the site as needed
Reporting hazards, faults, or operational issues promptly.

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will:

Be committed to workplace health and safety
Have a reliable, positive, and proactive attitude
Enjoy physical, hands-on work
Work well in a team environment
Be flexible to pick up additional shifts (including weekends if required).
Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
You will require up-to-date vaccinations for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus. If you do not currently have these, they can be booked in.

What you'll get in return In return, our client can offer an immediate start pending a drug and alcohol screening. This position commences in a labour hire capacity with the view to transition into an ongoing role for the right candidate. The shifts will be consistent on a Monday to Friday roster and with weekend overtime available.
