A1 Mechanical Servicing & Repairs is seeking an experienced and reliable Qualified Automotive Mechanic to join our team in Cairns.

We are an established, well-equipped independent workshop specialising in general mechanical repairs, fleet maintenance, 4WD servicing, diagnostics and vehicle inspections.

We are continuing to improve and grow our operations and are looking for a mechanic who takes pride in their workmanship, works efficiently and understands the importance of getting the job done right the first time.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, working in a busy workshop with a variety of vehicles and mechanical repairs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on passenger vehicles, 4WDs and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Completing suspension, steering, brake, clutch and cooling system repairs.
• Conducting vehicle inspections and identifying additional maintenance requirements.
• Accurately completing job cards, recording labour time and documenting repairs.
• Following workshop quality control, safety and inspection procedures.
• Working collaboratively with the workshop team to maintain productivity and quality standards.

What We're Looking For

• Trade-qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Current Australian driver's licence.
• A strong understanding of workplace safety and professional workshop practices.
