Lead Singer (Live Performance) - Full-time $147,000 per annum plus superannuation

Position Summary The proposed position is a full-time professional Lead Singer role responsible for delivering high-quality live vocal performances at Bayti Restaurant and at Bayti-organised functions, cultural celebrations, themed entertainment evenings and special events.

The role primarily involves preparing, rehearsing, interpreting and performing Lebanese, Arabic, Middle Eastern and contemporary musical repertoire, maintaining professional vocal standards and engaging audiences through live musical performances. The position requires flexibility to perform during evenings, weekends, public holidays, private functions and cultural events, in accordance with Bayti's genuine operational requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform live vocal music at Bayti Restaurant, private functions, themed entertainment evenings, cultural celebrations and other events organised by the business, delivering professional performances appropriate to the occasion and audience.
• Research, select, prepare and rehearse musical repertoire, with a particular focus on Lebanese, Arabic, Middle Eastern and contemporary songs that reflect Bayti's cultural identity and suit the requirements of its entertainment programs.
• Interpret and perform songs in the appropriate musical style, applying professional vocal technique, pitch, rhythm, timing, phrasing, tone, expression and musical interpretation to deliver high-quality live performances.
• Develop and maintain performance set lists tailored to different events, audiences and musical themes, adapting song selection, sequencing and presentation to suit the occasion and maintain audience engagement.
• Perform live with digital musical accompaniment, including professionally prepared instrumental backing tracks, electronic music systems, microphones, monitors and other sound equipment, where appropriate to the performance arrangement.
• Prepare and rehearse vocal arrangements and performance transitions, ensuring that songs, backing tracks, musical cues and changes between sets are delivered smoothly and consistently.
• Use vocal expression, stage presence and appropriate movement to enhance the musical presentation, engage guests and create an enjoyable live entertainment experience consistent with Bayti's event requirements.
• Undertake vocal preparation and performance rehearsals, maintaining vocal technique, stamina, musical accuracy and readiness for scheduled performances, including evening, weekend and public holiday events where required.
• Conduct or participate in sound checks and technical preparations relevant to the singer's performance, including checking microphone levels, monitoring sound quality, testing backing tracks and communicating performance requirements to sound technicians or other responsible personnel.
• Collaborate with external musicians, DJs, guest singers and other performers when engaged for particular events, coordinating musical keys, song selections, cues, timing and performance transitions to support cohesive live presentations.
• Liaise with Bayti management and relevant event personnel regarding performance schedules, repertoire requirements, event themes, set durations and other arrangements necessary for the delivery of scheduled live singing performances.

Key skills & Competencies:
• Professional live singing and advanced vocal techniques, including pitch, rhythm, timing, phrasing and tonal expression.
• Strong knowledge of Lebanese, Arabic, Middle Eastern and contemporary musical repertoire.
• Ability to interpret, prepare and rehearse songs in different musical styles.
• Experience performing live with instrumental backing tracks, digital accompaniment or live musicians.
• Strong stage presence, audience engagement and professional performance skills.
• Ability to develop and adapt musical set lists for different audiences and occasions.
• Familiarity with microphones, sound systems, monitors and performance sound checks.
• Ability to collaborate with musicians, DJs and sound technicians where required.
• Strong communication, reliability, adaptability and professional presentation.

Qualification and Experience
• Substantial professional experience as a singer or live music performer, preferably within Lebanese, Arabic or Middle Eastern entertainment.
• Demonstrated professional vocal and live-performance capability, including experience performing at restaurants, entertainment venues, weddings, private functions and cultural events.
• Strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary Lebanese, Arabic and Middle Eastern musical repertoire.
• Experience preparing musical repertoire, developing set lists and adapting live performances to different audiences and occasions.
• Proven ability to perform professionally alongside live bands, instrumentalists, percussionists, DJs and other singers.
• Demonstrated experience performing live with recorded instrumental backing tracks, digital music systems, DJs or accompanying musicians.
• Ability to independently prepare and deliver professional live vocal performances, including repertoire preparation, rehearsals, sound checks and audience engagement.

Languages - Arabic and English Strong Arabic-language proficiency is required for the professional performance of Lebanese and Arabic musical repertoire. English-language communication skills are required for effective coordination with venue management, musicians, production personnel and other stakeholders.
