Target Business Services Location: 1/15 Alloa Rd, Maddington, WA 6109, Perth Salary: $90,000 plus 11.5% Superannuation

Our client AHS Works Pty Ltd, operating as Great Aussie Patios, specializes in design and installation of patios, carports, pergolas and outdoor living solutions. The business has been successfully operating in this industry since 2000 and has built a solid reputation for delivering quality products and exceptional customer service.

As Great Aussie Patios continue to grow, the client is seeking a skilled Human Resource Manager to help them build and nurture a productive and engaged workforce.

The Human Resource Manager will play a pivotal role in aligning people strategies with business objectives. This hands-on role requires expertise in recruitment, performance management, workplace relations, and compliance. The position involves fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and contributing to continuous workforce improvement. Close collaboration with department managers is essential to achieve key business outcomes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. • A minimum of 2 years of experience in human resource management, ideally within the construction or service industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate HR strategies, policies, and plans to meet evolving business needs.
  • Recruitment & Training: Advise and assist managers in recruitment, selection, and onboarding, while overseeing employee induction, training, and development programs.
  • Performance Management: Create and maintain performance management systems to plan, assess, and improve individual and team performance.
  • Workplace Relations: Represent the organization in negotiations with employees and unions regarding remuneration, benefits, and other employment conditions.
  • Compliance & Safety: Develop and implement occupational health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with equal employment opportunity (EEO) regulations and other statutory requirements.
  • Redundancy & Retrenchment: Oversee redundancy processes and employee retrenchment policies, ensuring fairness and compliance.
  • Employment Costs & Productivity: Monitor employment costs and productivity levels, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Training & Support: Provide training and guidance to managers on HR best practices, workplace relations, and personnel management.
  • Employee Engagement: Promote a positive work culture by initiating employee engagement programs and strategies to enhance job satisfaction and retention.

Skills, experience and attributes:

To be considered for this opportunity you must have:

  • Strong knowledge of Australian workplace laws, OH&S, EEO, and industrial relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to engage with employees and unions effectively.
  • Proven experience in recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
