Pay: AU$80,000.00 – AU$82,000.00 per year Job description: Perth Plate and Reo, part of Simmonds Group, is a leading reinforcing steel supplier servicing the construction industry across Western Australia. We are seeking qualified full-time Human Resource Adviser to join our team in a long- term position. A minimum of 2 years' experience in this role is a must. Duties will include:

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and selection activities, including workforce requirements, job advertising, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks and selection processes.
  • Provide generalist HR advice and support to management and employees on employment conditions, workplace policies, performance, attendance, conduct, employee relations and other HR matters.
  • Prepare, review and administer employment contracts, remuneration and employment variations, HR correspondence, position documentation and other employment-related records.
  • Interpret and apply relevant employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act 2009, National Employment Standards (NES), Modern Awards and applicable workplace policies, and provide advice on their application.
  • Monitor legislative, award and employment condition changes and advise management on their impact on employee classifications, minimum rates, overtime, penalties, allowances, leave and other employment conditions.
  • Develop, review, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and employment practices to support legislative compliance and organisational requirements.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and induction processes, including preparing commencement documentation and providing employees with information on employment conditions, workplace policies, procedures and organisational requirements.
  • Advise and assist managers with employee performance, attendance, conduct, disciplinary and workplace relations matters, including supporting appropriate documentation and processes.
  • Assist with the management and resolution of employee grievances, workplace concerns and other employee relations matters, including providing advice on appropriate HR processes.
  • Support management in workplace relations and Fair Work matters, including reviewing relevant legislation and employment records and preparing supporting documentation and information.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR information systems, ensuring employment, leave, remuneration and other HR information is appropriately recorded and maintained.
  • Coordinate and support employee development, training, performance review and employee engagement initiatives in accordance with organisational requirements.
  • Support workforce planning and HR initiatives by monitoring staffing requirements, employee movements and workforce information and providing relevant information to management.
  • Coordinate and contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives, including reviewing HR processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing practical HR solutions.

The preferred applicant will be-

  • A qualification in Human Resource Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR or Human Resources Adviser role, preferably within a manufacturing, engineering or similar operational environment.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards (NES) and Modern Awards.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide practical HR advice and work collaboratively with managers and employees.
  • High level of confidentiality, professionalism and attention to detail.
