German Teacher

Job description

The School Randstad Education is partnering with a highly regarded and community-focused Independent Anglican School located in Melbourne's North-Western suburbs. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated German Teacher for a full-time contract commencing in Term 3 through to the end of the school year, with a strong view to becoming ongoing from 2027. This school is celebrated for its inclusive, values-driven environment and its commitment to fostering holistic development alongside academic success. Operating on a framework that balances modern pedagogical innovation with a supportive community culture, it provides an exceptional environment for educators who wish to inspire global citizens within a faith-based educational setting. The Role This is a full-time position teaching German across both junior and senior secondary cohorts, offering a fantastic balance of foundational language instruction and advanced elective teaching.

Curriculum: Plan and deliver engaging German language and cultural lessons for Years 7 and 8 (average class sizes of 22-23 students), as well as highly motivated, small elective classes for Years 10 and 11.

Pedagogy: Implement interactive, communicative language methodologies that cater to diverse learning styles and instil a genuine love for linguistics and culture.

Workload: Focus purely on your classroom teaching and subject delivery, with an exemption from home group/pastoral care duties for the duration of the 2026 contract.

Collaboration: Work alongside a collegial, supportive, and well-resourced Languages faculty to share best practices and modern learning experiences.

Successful Candidate Profile

Qualifications: Full or provisional registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).

Attributes: Exceptional language proficiency, an engaging classroom presence, and a respectful alignment with the school's Anglican ethos. The capability to nurture small senior cohorts while keeping junior classes enthusiastic is essential.

Benefits

Longevity: A secure full-time contract for the remainder of 2026, with a very high probability of transitioning into a permanent, ongoing role for 2027.

Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a reduced administrative and pastoral burden with no home group duties required for the duration of this contract.

Favourable Ratios: Experience the deeply rewarding nature of teaching exceptionally small, dedicated elective senior German classes.

Culture: Belong to a collaborative, welcoming staff network within a highly respected educational institution that values continuous professional development.
