Full-Time Motor Mechanic (General) SALARY $80,000 - $85,000 + SUPERANNUATION

SUMMARY At Singh Automobile Services, we are experts in service and repairs to all makes and models of vehicles in the market. Our business focuses on servicing Petrol and Diesel vehicles in the automotive industry. We pride ourselves on delivering the highest possible levels of workmanship and customer satisfaction at competitive prices. Our services include auto electrical repairs, brake servicing, tyres and batteries. The incumbent in this role will be responsible for undertaking inspections, maintenance, repairs and testing on all makes and models of vehicles.

Scope of the Role: The scope of this role encompasses the repair, maintenance and testing of vehicle engines and mechanical components as well as liaising with management, clients and other staff.

The main duties of this role include:

• The detection of faults in mechanical parts and vehicle engines using technical testing equipment such as computers where appropriate
• The removal and dismantling of mechanical components including (but not limited to) transmissions, engine assemblies and steering mechanisms and completing a thorough inspection of the components
• Completing required repair work to mechanical components, or where necessary undertaking the replacement of parts in accordance with relevant service manuals
• Reassembly of mechanical components post repair and conducting relevant tests to ensure the component is fully operational then making any necessary adjustments and re-testing if required
• Performance of regular vehicle maintenance services including the replacement of vehicle fluids such as oil, engine tune-ups or lubricants ensuring the vehicles run effectively
• Full adherence to regulations relating to pollution and health and safety at all times
• Completing vehicle inspections in accordance with the relevant National and State Standards for vehicles and issuing certificates of roadworthiness or a documented statement of work required to achieve a certificate of roadworthiness

Other Duties:

• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Contribute to team effort by working with others to achieve results as needed
• Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, ensuring a professional and polite manner when communicating with customers
• From time to time helping to supervise trainee mechanics

REQUIRED SKILLS

Qualifications: A minimum qualification of AQF Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology or a related field is required including at least two years of on-the-job training or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3). A Diploma qualification is preferred. Several years’ relevant experience working as a mechanic may substitute for formal qualifications. Must meet any registration and licensing requirements in force at the time

Experience:

• Demonstrated experience gained in an auto repair environment
• Working knowledge of a broad range of vehicles, mechanical components and testing procedures
