Macthom Pty Ltd operates The River Hotel and Margaret River Resort in Margaret River, WA offering guest accommodation, dining and leisure facilities to domestic and international visitors.
Location: Margaret River 6285, WA Annual Remuneration: $71,700 to $75,000 per annum Type: Full-time, permanent and ongoing
We are seeking experienced housekeepers to manage the presentation of guest rooms and public areas across the resort. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role involving high-turnover days, tight checkout timeframes, and guests who expect consistently spotless rooms. You will need to maintain high standards under pressure and support the team during peak periods.
The work
• Clean and service guest rooms, suites, public areas, back-of-house spaces, including entrances, walkways, balconies, terraces, and shared guest facilities
• Maintain flooring by sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets, and clean curtains, upholstered furniture, and soft furnishings in rooms and communal areas
• Dust, wipe, and polish furniture, fixtures, fittings, counters, shelving, mirrors, and other surfaces in guest accommodation, lobbies, lounges, corridors, amenities, and resort facilities
• Remove rubbish, empty bins and waste containers, and take waste to approved resort collection or disposal points
• Replenish minibars, guest amenities, toiletries, glassware, stationery, towels, linen, and other in-room supplies in line with resort requirements
• Strip and remake beds in guest rooms, suites, and villas, including replacing linen and preparing rooms for new arrivals or current guests
• Carry out linen and laundry tasks, including collecting, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, repairing, storing, and maintaining linen, towels, uniforms, robes, and other resort laundry items
What you'll need
• At least 3 to 6 months of relevant housekeeping experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial accommodation setting
• Proven ability to meet brand presentation standards within tight checkout and room turnaround timeframes
• Strong attention to detail that meets guest expectations and room inspection standards
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks across a room list without supervision
• Reliability in working a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, and peak periods
• 2 contactable industry references from previous accommodation or hospitality employers
• Full working rights in Australia and a current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
