South West Hospitality is looking for a full time cook/ chef to join our small humble dynamic team. We are looking for the right candidate to work our Thursday – Monday roster 5 days a week. Our ethos is local seafood and native Australian produce. We source all our produce from our surrounding hinterland and the greater South West. We are looking for a candidate to grow into the position and excel into the summer trade and learn from our head chef and guide new staff members as the team changes with the season volume and menu changes with seasonal produce. About You
• Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery are preferred but not essential. The right attitude is more important but at least 12 months of experience as a Cook is essential.
• Eager to learn and show creativity in the kitchen.
• Organised and well presented.
• Certified National Food Safety Standard 3.2.2A - Food Handler Training
• Respectful and positive with your teammates. What we Offer

• Responsible for sourcing fresh and suitable ingredients that are essential for cooking.
• Continuously innovating and experimenting with new flavours to create new dishes or special menus for occasions, thereby keeping the menu dynamic and appealing to both regular and new customers.
• Ensuring the quality of each dish served meets the restaurant's standards, including taste testing and monitoring presentation.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, following food safety regulations.
• Streamlining kitchen operations to improve efficiency and reduce food waste, which includes optimising food preparation processes and timing.
• Engaging with customers to receive feedback, discuss menu items, and accommodate special dietary requests or allergies, enhances the dining experience. Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
• Punctual & Presentable.
• Open to learning.
• Positive and can do attitude working in a small strong team environment.
• Participate in food preparation for service, in accordance with accepted standards of quality.
• Ensure the overall cleanliness and the health and safety aspects of the kitchen are maintained at all times.
• Responsible for proper storage, labelling and use of all food supplies to prevent unnecessary wastage and to maintain cost control.
• Optimize food quality and customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure kitchen is running smoothly and efficiently.
• Assist the Head Chef with Menu planning, inventory control, scheduling, ordering of kitchen supplies.
